Key metrics at a glance
Understand Dageno metrics including Visibility, Citation Rate, Share of Voice, Average Position, and Sentiment across AI responses.
Visibility
Overview
Visibility is the percentage of total AI responses that mention your brand. A higher value means your brand receives greater exposure and stronger competitive visibility in the selected AI channels.
How Visibility is calculated
Visibility is calculated as follows:
Visibility Score = (Number of responses mentioning your brand / Total responses) × 100
It is shown as a percentage and indicates how often your brand appears in AI responses across all tracked prompts.
Why Visibility matters
Visibility helps you understand:
- How well known your brand is in your industry.
- Whether AI models recognize your brand in relation to relevant topics.
- How strong your overall market presence and authority are in AI responses.
Citation Rate
Overview
Citation Rate shows the percentage of AI responses with citation links that cite your website domain.
How Citation Rate is calculated
Citation Rate is calculated as follows:
Citation Rate = (AI responses citing your domain ÷ AI responses with any citation links) × 100%
For example, if there are 100 AI responses with citation links, and 15 of them cite your website domain, your Citation Rate is 15%.
Why Citation Rate matters
Citation Rate helps you understand whether your website content is being used by AI as a trusted source. A higher Citation Rate means your website is more likely to be selected as a reference when AI includes source links. This usually indicates that your content has stronger credibility and citation value for related questions.
Citation Rate matters in two main ways:
- It reflects content credibility. If AI often cites your website, your content is more likely to be used as supporting evidence in AI responses.
- It connects AI exposure with website traffic. When AI responses include links to your website, users have a clearer path from AI answers to your official site. Citation Rate therefore helps you evaluate whether AI exposure can turn into website visits.
Share of Voice
Overview
Share of Voice is your brand’s share of all brand mentions in AI responses about your industry, including mentions of competitors.
How Share of Voice is calculated
Share of Voice is calculated as follows:
Share of Voice = [Your brand mentions ÷ (Your brand mentions + All competitor mentions)] × 100%
It is shown as a percentage and represents how much of the total AI brand conversation belongs to your brand.
Why Share of Voice matters
Share of Voice helps you see whether AI talks about your brand or your competitors more often under the same topics. A higher percentage means AI is more likely to discuss your brand instead of choosing competitors.
Sentiment
Overview
Sentiment shows whether AI mentions your brand in a positive, neutral, or negative way. A higher score means AI is more likely to describe or recommend your brand positively.
How Sentiment is calculated
Sentiment = positive brand mentions ÷ total brand mentions × 100%
Score explanation
The Sentiment is based on brand related expressions in AI responses.
- Positive expressions usually include recommendations, recognition, highlighted strengths, or suitable use cases.
- Neutral expressions are usually factual mentions without a clear opinion.
- Negative expressions usually include limitations, risks, negative feedback, or unfavorable comparisons.
Why Sentiment matters
Sentiment matters in two main ways:
- It helps you understand the context of brand mentions. If Visibility is high but Sentiment is low, your brand may be mentioned often, but not always in a positive context.
- It helps you find information that needs correction. If Sentiment keeps declining, you can review the related AI responses to check for outdated information, negative feedback, or unfavorable competitor comparisons.
Volume
Overview
Volume is the monthly search volume of a prompt in the current monitored region. It helps measure the level of demand behind a specific prompt.
Why Volume matters
Volume helps you decide which questions deserve higher priority:
- Higher volume prompts usually indicate stronger market demand.
- Lower volume prompts can be evaluated together with business relevance to decide whether they should continue to be monitored.
How to interpret Volume
Volume should be reviewed together with Visibility, Citation Rate, and Average Position.
Higher volume prompts usually deserve higher priority:
If your brand has low Visibility, low Citation Rate, or appears later in AI responses for a high volume prompt, it means the question has search demand, but your brand still has room to improve its coverage, citations, or position in AI responses.
Lower volume prompts can be evaluated based on business relevance:
If a prompt is not closely related to your core business, it may not need to be prioritized even when current performance is not ideal.
